What does counseling consist of ?

Counseling services can be individual sessions, family sessions, or session with an intimate relationship. Counseling involves building rapport between client and therapist, sharing as honestly as you can, and guidance and assistance in resolving personal, social, or psychological problems and difficulties. Counseling also involves learning new coping skills and techniques you can utilize to help improve the quality of life and overall wellness.

What is expected to happen during the first session?

- The first session will consist of completing an intake, gathering history, building rapport, and collectively working together to address needs. It is important to determine if we "click" and if you, as a client, feel comfortable in allowing me to guide you in the counseling process. I offer a free 20 minute consultation. This consultation can be done in person or via phone prior to the first session. This will give you the opportunity for us to meet or converse and allow you to decide if you want to proceed with services.

-Once we have met and completed the intake process, then we will collectively work to develop a treatment plan and set the tone for therapy. I understand that life happens so treatment plans can be re-evaluated to accommodate priority need.

Service costs?

-For a 60 minute session (individual, family, or couples): $100 (Telehealth options only)

Do you accept insurance and benefits of private pay?

-Yes, I currently accept some health insurance (BCBS, and United Health Care). I also accept private pay and sliding scale option available for those who qualify.

-Utilizing private pay allows to maintain a higher degree of confidentiality. This gives the client control of confidential information and services.

-When utilizing insurance, it is the insurance company who dictates number of sessions allowed (if the plan even offers counseling benefits) and if services will be approved.

-Also, depending on insurance plan, the client may have to meet a deductible costs prior to being able to access benefits.
